This then is the message which we have heard of Him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all. 1 John 1:5 KJV
DEATH in the Presence of God
How can there be pain/sorrow/suffering, in the presence of God- if God is ALL love? The answer as I have come to understand it, is found in the telling of Ananias and Sapphira. ( Read Acts 5:1-10)
Ananias and Sapphira lied in the presence of the Holy Spirit, and IMMEDIATELY they died. How can this be?
If there is one rotten apple at the bottom of a barrel, or bushel of apples and there are a total of 10 apples in the barrel- will the 1 rotten apple affect the 10? YES… the apples will slowly ALL begin to go bad. There is not enough GOOD fruit to overtake the rotten apple.
Ananias and Sapphira were like rotten apples. They schemed and lied, by having let the devil into their hearts and listening to him. If they were in any “ordinary” place- eventually their example would wear off onto others. The church in Acts was NO ORDINARY PLACE. The presence of God was all around- there was NO escaping it.
What happens when there are rotten apples at the bottom of a bushel but the bushel doesn’t just have 1,2, or 10 apples- but so many apples that they aren’t just filling the bushel- they are heaping out and over the side! And the apples just keep coming in… by the thousands! The good apples won’t stop coming! They are heaping and heaping into the barrel! Oh my, there is now a TON of apples on top of those two mealy rotten apples!
Do those rotten apples at the bottom of the barrel underneath all that goodness have a chance to corrode the rest? NO! It would not take long before those two apples would be made into applesauce under the sheer weight of perfection, and all of God’s appley goodness!
This is a painful, hellacious process- but if one can survive it… they will become free and free indeed!
YOU, a Perfected Fruit!
The early church was so heavy with the presence of the goodness of God that Ananias and Sapphira couldn’t stand a chance! Sin cannot live in the presence of righteousness, and glory. If any man wants more glory, goodness, love, peace, and joy in their lives, they must learn to surrender to God’s love and His plan for their lives. They must choose to life Holy, and pure. When the joy of the Lord comes into them- those who desire to be refined and found presentable before the Lord, must go through the ‘hell’ of squeezing all the ‘sin’ and rottenness out of their hearts. This is a painful, hellacious process- but if one can survive it… they will become free and free indeed! They will be found as a whole and perfected fruit!
God Bless you my friends, as you walk out the painful process of perfection. Know that the Holy Spirit is here to help you, and at the end you will be found worthy of your inheritance!
