I nearly burned my fingertips off last night, I had a good reason.

“And He said to them, How is it that you sought me? Knew you not that I must be about my Father’s business?” Luke 2:49

I was bleaching my hair. Unlike the directions so blatantly stated however, I did not take caution wear the required gloves (I do not recommend this) and if anyone knows 40 volume peroxide and fingertips don’t go so well together!

What does bleaching my hair have to do with my Father’s business, or writing HOT Topics? I am merely using it to illustrate to you, how things have begun changing for me, since I have been daily working on improving myself through writing daily to you. The changes that I have gone through in speaking of all of the wonderful subjects we have covered in the past two months. Dying my hair, is an outward manifestation of an inward transformation, and this inward transformation, I believe has been a result from being consistent in doing the last thing God has told me to do.

The Word came to one of our Pastor’s once that was, “Don’t worry about the next thing you are to do for God. Just focus on completing the last thing God told you to do.” What a relief that was! He was saying, “Hey, before you get hung up on all the great things God has yet for you to do… have you done whatever it was God told you to do last… have you completed HIS business?”

Writing the HOT Topics daily, has been as much for me, as it has been for others. I wake up in the morning, hear a word, and then I rush to the laptop while fending off the children and avoiding all distractions. I sit down and write out the words as they come, one by one. Sometimes they are short, sometimes they are long. Regardless, it is what I am called to do, in addition to many other things, and I have never felt better!

Can you imagine what would happen, if you were able to do what you had been called to do, everyday? What would happen in 2 years, 5 years, 10 years?! How would life develop for you? How would you change, how would things change? It doesn’t take much time, 20 or 30 minutes, maybe an hour. Earl Nightingale once said “If you devote an hour a day to learning something, in five years you will have become the expert!” I totally agree! Malcom Gladwell in his book Outliers, says that the common denominator after studying successful people and their patterns shared, was that as soon as they had hit the 10,000 hour mark they had become expert in their area of endeavor and consistently proved to have had a breakthrough leading them to success!

So far, in the last three months of writing daily; I have started going to the gym again, my house has gotten more organized, I have been waking up early, I have bought some new clothes, and dyed my hair. I have been so fulfilled on the inside, that it is manifesting on the outside in miraculous ways. The clothes that I bought were drastically on sale, I found a clearance center where everything was under 10$! My hair usually cost me hundreds, now it has cost me tens.

Doing the Lord’s will, has brought about abundant blessings and proven the scripture…”So that the man of God may be complete and proficient, well fitted and thoroughly equipped for every good work.” 2 Tim 3:17 The Lord has has brought us increase, groceries, clothing, furniture, energy, and blessings! All because, I am listening and obeying! AMEN!

Here is something I would like to share with you,

THE WAY OUT OF UNDESIRABLE CONDITIONS, From Poverty to Power, James Allen (1901)

“Perhaps you are living in a small cottage, and are surrounded by unhealthy and vicious influences. You desire a larger and more sanitary residence. Then you must fit yourself for such a residence by first of all making you cottage as far as possible a little paradise. Keep it spotlessly clean. Make it look as pretty and sweet as your limited means will allow. Cook your plain food with all care, and arrange your humble table as tastefully as you possibly can. If you cannot afford a carpet, let your rooms be carpeted with smiles and welcome, fastened down with the nails of kind words driven in with the hammer of patience. Such a carpet will not fade in the sun, and constant use will never wear it away.

By so ennobling your present surroundings you will rise above them, and above the need of them, and at the right time you will pass on into a better house and surroundings which have all along been waiting for you, and which you have fit yourself to occupy.”

Yes, our houses are our laboratories (HOT Topic: Living in Chaos), however our state of mind must always be clean, and in good repair. We keep it this way first by putting God’s Word first place in our lives, and second by going about doing our Father’s business.

Every time that I put pen to ink, or in this case finger to type pad, I am seeing about delivering the message that God has in store for each day. Thus completing for myself, the last thing that God has told me to do. This has created a renewed energy in me and while my house in the midst of completing a project is still a laboratory filled with untold imagination, chaos and mystery, the house gets righted back by night, because I am righted first on the inside.

May God Bless you today, as you do what God has last told you to do. I pray today that you would have an increase in resources to complete what you have been called to do, and that you would also be able to complete it! When the job is completed, hold on, wait patiently, (as a waiter awaits a customer) and eagerly listen to your next direction from Him. It will not tarry, listen He is speaking to you now! We will always be able to hear Him, if we just listen! And we will always be blessed, when we are quick to obey!
