Our bird has dominance over our baby.
Strange isn’t it? It is true though, the bird will sit on my 10 year olds shoulder and ‘charge’ at the 2 year old until he intimidates him (the 2 year old) into submission. The two year old then runs away and the bird preens itself in its accomplishments.
Be self controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 1 Peter 5:8
As long as we are intimidated, we are defeated. Self control comes when we stand on the Word of God (our word for our lives) regardless of circumstances. I know that the day that the baby stands up to the bird, will be the last day that the bird charges. It takes self control to stand, when all around you is falling apart.
Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Eph. 6:13
Until the day that the baby can stand up to the bird, it is up to me as his parent to protect him, and stand in the gap for him. I do not force him to grow before he is ready, I encourage him to be bold and to stand on his own two feet. God does the same for us, He encourages us to stand on our own two feet when we are ready. He does not take away from us the ability to learn how to stand. He does not short cut the process, He loves us enough to build us up and watch us take dominion of our situations!
A prayer for today,
Thank you God for giving us strength to stand up to the adversary, and for showing us that we need to stand. Build up your people with strength to stare down the enemy, and put him in his place- under our feet!
God Bless you warriors!
