Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13

For those of you who know me, you have seen me feverishly working night and day to get my book written and published.

However, what you don’t know is my motivation.

Since the first time I saw my husband Jeff pick up a golf club, I knew he had been given a special gift. As a matter of fact from that moment, I knew he was supposed to be a golfer.

One cannot hear Pavarotti, and not know that he was meant to sing. Or see a work from Michelangelo, and know that he was supposed to be an artist. Well, as soon as I saw my husband hit driver 300+ yards and have it land exactly where he called it… I said “WOW!”

As soon as I heard that it was his dream to make a career out of being a Pro-golfer on tour, there was no hesitation on my part. No fear of security or the future, after all his dream IS my dream.

Do I think it would be great to become a best-selling author? Yes, of course! But better yet is the fact that my success will be getting us one step closer to that full-time tour player role.

My motivation then, that keeps me up ALL night working is not to sell books, it is to see my husband at Augusta wearing a green jacket.

Seeing his dream become fulfilled is the fuel I need to do the impossible, it is in my opinion the ultimate in self-sacrifice, laying my ‘life’ down for my friend. Every minute I spend working, is another minute I can say I did my best to get my spouse closer to his dream.

It is my prayer for you today that you would learn your spouse/friends dreams and begin to focus your activity on doing whatever it is that you can for them, to make those dreams come into reality.

Jeff, at the finish after hitting yet another awesome ball. I am the one at Pin High with the camera phone, documenting EVERY shot! Go team HEILMAN!
