When it is time for bed, we can rest assured that we have everything we could ever want; God in our lives!

With God comes all the things that we need. Wants and needs are two different things, keeping this in mind, when we go to bed recognizing that we have everything we “need” instead of everything we “want” our futures start becoming exciting! WE HAVE GOD, WE HAVE EVERYTHING!

Upon the recognition that our future is in His hands, and that everything we do counts for something in this world and on to eternity, there will come a point when you will end up getting so excited to see what tomorrow will bring that we don’t even want to go to sleep!

It is vain for you to rise up early, to take rest late, to eat the bread of [anxious] toil—for He gives [blessings] to His beloved in sleep. —Psalm 127:2 Amplified Bible

This scripture says that the Lord blesses us ALL THE TIME, even while we sleep! How cool is that! I may not have a Swiss bank account working for me 24/7, but I’ve got God! Why be frustrated?

It is vain for you to work like a dog, rise up and hit the floor running, then collapse in bed at night. This is no work worth doing at all, if God isn’t in it! When God is on your side, it is the hardest work you will ever do, but it is not meant to be a burdening work. The laborer is pleasantly exhausted by the end of the day from the physical exertion, but the man who goes to bed in anxious toil is a man attempting to forge his own way, instead of letting God lead the way. Scripture states that to His beloved (those He prizes, those He loves and love Him in return (Mal 3:7)), He gives blessings to, even while they sleep!

Today, I am here to tell you that you can have that kind of blessing too. You don’t have to work like a dog and carry the stresses of the day into your nights. Start practicing going to bed at night thinking of all the great things that God has done for you, all the things that He has created- like butterflies, passionflowers, cat whiskers- anything and everything good and lovely.

The Apostle Paul says,

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent or praiseworthy- think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me–put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you. Phil 4:8-9

God is the Creator of all things good. Thinking of the good things that He has done and has made, will bring you the greatest peace you will ever know! Tonight I am going to shut her down thinking of God His Word, and all of the good things He has done for me, taking my kids to Disneyland, dragonflies and chocolate donuts- definitely donuts.

A prayer for today,

“Heavenly Father, I believe in your Word, that your Son Jesus died on the cross and was risen again. It is only through His death that I can pray to you now, I receive your Holy Spirit in me, right now, and I ask that you would fill me up and bring me Your peace, so that I may forever know You and enter into Your kingdom. Thank you Father for restoring me, and creating in me a new creation! I will never go to sleep in stress again! I know now, that You bless me even while I am sleeping! Jesus name AMEN!”
