WOMEN, BEAUTIFUL CREATIONS
“O unbelieving and perverse generation,” Jesus replied, “how long shall I stay with you? How long shall I put up with you?” Matt 17:17
We as Christians have gone too far. Have you noticed recently walking through the mall, that it has become unclear, the sheep from the wolves? Have you gone through the pictures on Facebook of “saved” women, looked at the clothes they are wearing and wondered “????”
As a Christian woman, have you ever been called a “Sexy”? (By anyone other than your husband… that is OK, he is the ONLY one who should get to say it) Has anyone ever seen written a comment on your FB photos or heard in person someone call you “Sexy”? Have you ever stopped and researched what it is they are saying to you? (As a Christian woman, I cannot even type that other curse word that usually follows it!)
-a female dog, wolf, fox, or otter
-informal derogatory a woman whom one dislikes or considers to be malicious or unpleasant.
In essence, when you put those two words together it literally means: “I am sexually aroused by you, and I want to have intercourse with you, and it makes me hate/dislike you.”
OH BUT WAIT JESSICA! I think it is “CUTE!” I say it to my gf’s all the time!
Maybe, you haven’t known what it means. Maybe you dress this way because you want to make men other than your husband want you, or the future husband God has for you, to want you.
The Lord wants to encourage you Ladies, and He has a word for you: “YOU DON’T NEED A GIMMICK! You are beautiful the way I created you and I will bring you a man of honor and respect as you honor and respect yourself!”
“And I want women to be modest in their appearance. They should wear decent and appropriate clothing and not draw attention to themselves by the way they fix their hair or by wearing gold or pearls or expensive clothes. For women who claim to be devoted to God should make themselves attractive by the good things they do.” 1 Timothy 2:9-10
When the disciples were out of faith Jesus said, “O unbelieving and perverse generation, how long shall I stay with you? How long shall I put up with you?”
Zero in with me for a minute on the word “perverse”, the literal translation of this word is, “perverse” = diastrephō (Greek) (disaster) and it means,
“to turn aside from the right path, to pervert, corrupt, a turning of the heavenly bodies.”
Perversion literally means that we take what is Godly and purely made, and then corrupt it for evil. There is perversion of all types. When we are “perverted” we are taking what God has made for good, and corrupting it. Calling a person who is the righteousness of God a derogatory name is in essence turning the heavenly bodies against them, and can lead them away from the path of righteousness. Your words have that much power.
“The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” Proverbs 18:21
A prayer for today,
“Father God, You alone are worthy. We are nothing and can be nothing without you. I desire Lord to be found worthy and faithful to you, and am deciding today to make sure that my lips are no longer perverse before you. I commit today that “bad” means “bad” and “good” means “good”. I know through my example of righteousness and purity to others, the unsaved, will begin to see a difference in my outer-appearance, and they will desire to know You through the good that I do, not the clothes that I wear. Forgive me Lord, if I have ever caused another woman’s husband to look on me in a perverted way, and I pray Lord that you would show me how to improve my posture to a self-respected and Holy woman.” Amen
Food for thought:
I once heard a Preacher of the Gospel state that people who are having a struggle with their Deliverance Ministries must ‘clean themselves up’, once they do, they will begin to see breakthrough in the lives of those they pray for.
Better (to be) a poor man whose walk is blameless than a fool whose lips are perverse. Proverbs 19:1
Listen, for I have worthy things to say; I open my lips to speak what is right. My mouth speaks what is true, for my lips detest wickedness. All the words of my mouth are just; none of them is crooked or perverse. Proverbs 8:7-8
A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. Proverbs 31:10
