FEELING IMPATIENT

PATIENCE

Today’s principle focus of strength, is on a deeper development of patience.

Scripture of the day: We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised. Hebrews 6:12

Today’s Positive Words of Affirmation and Encouraging Words to Live By: “Today, I will choose to be patient and understanding with my children and my family.”

Where do you see myself on a scale of 1-10 in the area of “Patience”?

As I was wondering what to write about this morning; my 12 year old was asking if he could play on the computer, my 10 year old learned chopsticks for the piano, my 7 year old (girl) was shrieking playing with the 2 year old, my 3 year old was crying over a body-less mini-lego, and the 2 year old was causing the 7 year old to do the shrieking. All while I am in the reclined position and each child has chosen to climb over me as I type, not go around me. Patience is my appropriate strength to focus on for the day.

BREATHE

Isn’t it amazing how “breathing” coincides with patience? Breathing causes us to stop, slow down, and take a moment to reflect. Today I will choose to breath more, holler less, and relax in knowing that unless God moves me, I don’t need to be anywhere. After all, what’s the big hurry?

How many accidents would or could be avoided with a 15 minute longer allowance in time? What we need to do today is go slower, breath deeper, eat richer, and love more completely. We need to pray for peace and patience and that He would give us strength to be tolerant and patient with everyone around us. Today I personally will focus on the inner strength that comes from being patient, nothing takes or lasts forever, but God Himself!

TAKE GOOD CARE (Things that might help in the development patience)

1. Taking a shower and dressing in comfortable and clean clothing
2. Recognition that you have a place to call “home”
3. Drink plenty of water or tea
4. Take time to prioritize and plan a schedule (knowing what is required next, will help you not to rush)
5. Eat good food and go and walk or get plenty of exercise
6. Take the time to read and write a scripture, ONE 3″x5″ card with a verse on it to study and be mindful of

A prayer today,

Lord God, thank you for giving us renewed strength and patience today. Thank you for giving me something to focus on today, something real and practical. Your Word says that it is in our patience that we inherit what is promised to us. I firmly believe that it is in this type of patience that we await Your second coming. Thank you for reminding me to take good care of myself, and to encourage my friends to take better care of themselves, that they would be prepared when the time comes. In Your Son Jesus’ Name, AMEN.

May the Lord God Bless you and equip you with everything you need in order to be patient!
