I read a sentence yesterday that shook me to the core, it said “Jesus was love personified”. WOW! It was indicating and stating that Christ loved so well, so deeply, and so purely that He literally became walked, talked, and breathed love personified!

These three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. 1 Cor 13:13

How many times have we had “sin, pain, malice, fear, stress, worry, gripes, grievances, religion, pain, sorrow, destruction” crammed down our throats to the end that we almost all but believe that there isn’t any “good” left in mankind at all! After all most modern day physiologists will argue that we (humans) are all created evil by nature and that there is no hope whatsoever for rehabilitation or transfiguration because after all, we are all evil and no matter how hard we try we will fail! What a lie!

Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect. Matthew 5:48

This is a statement taken directly out of the mouth of Christ Jesus, our Lord. How can Christ expect us to be “perfect”, if we will undoubtedly fall into sin, no matter how hard we try. The simple truth is that living “perfected”, is living by the law of love!

Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind…Love your neighbor as yourself. Matt 22: 38-40

We are “perfected” in Him by living in love, and living in love is to love God and to love your neighbor as you love yourself. What a concept! What a thing to think! If all of us before we speak or act would merely take the time to consider others responses. Do we would want someone to do, say, or think this way towards us? Can you imagine what would happen if we all lived by this rule!

“If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.”

If you are stuck, and are in that self-absorbed state in which you are unable to give or receive love, recognize that it is only another one who follows the law of love as stated by Christ (who IS love) that can love the unlovable. Your current friends who lie, cheat, and steal cannot ever give you the kind of love that the love of following after Christ can bring. Until you retrain your mind to think about doing to others, what you would have them do unto you, you will never enter into rest. Cheating, stealing, lying, to “get ahead”, will only get you further from love and His way of living, and further from the long term goal of reception among your peers.

Today’s challenge is to begin to take the time to think of others and the impact you will have on them before you make any decisions, or actions. Would YOU want to be ‘flipped off’ on the freeway? Would YOU want to be attacked in the office? Would YOU want YOUR parent to pay no attention to you, when they got home from work? Doing unto others, is the law of love, and as you walk in the Spirit of love you will find that life is a lot greener and rosier than you think, you are made in the image of God, not satan!

A prayer for today,

Lord God, Bless your people and continue to illuminate to them Your love and perfected Spirit. You are not impossible, Your yoke is easy and Your burden is light. Sin is heavy, hate is heavy, take these oppressions from Your people and show them all Your goodness and Glory. In Your Son Jesus’ name, AMEN!

God Bless you today as you begin to win in life and in LOVE!

We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love. God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them. 1 John 4:16
