Have you ever seen an animal stuck in a trap? Have you ever watched a bug on a web? What usually happens? The trapped individual will fight and struggle and ferociously panic until at last they give up trying. They die and then, upon their fights completion they get eaten or discarded.

“He has sent me to announce forgiveness to the prisoners of sin.” – Jesus [Luke 4:18] GWT

Our battle friends is not with God. More often than not, our battle is with our traditions. Those things that hold us like a web, captive to our beliefs. Those beliefs that leave us struggling day in and day out, fighting for freedom, but stuck in an invisible web of sin. I have told you before that sin is nothing but missing the mark and not living up to our potential in God’s way of doing things. Sinners are people who do not read the Word of God in order to get out of it the way in which God wants them to live. Are you a sinner if you are a “Christian” and don’t read the Word, ABSOLUTELY. You know no better way to live!

When you begin to treat the Bible like a constitution, you recognize that there is something very corrective in its instruction. For example, up into the 1800’s, many women died in child bearing and they did not know why. The hospital then was more than 100% worse than it is today. People were scared to death to go to the hospital, because the hospital was where people went to die. LITERALLY

At the turn of the century, a very astute religious Doctor read and began to show other Doctors in the Old Testament where the Lord imprints on the mind of the people the necessity to wash your hands. Up until the turn of the century, Doctor’s would go from working on a dying man straight to aiding in delivery a woman in labor. They was no understanding of the importance of washing hands in the operating room, and as a result the hospitals became hot beds for disease and death. Come the turn of the century, and the rereading of the Levites and their cleanliness, found in the Bible, hospitals began to become safe and sanitized places. Hospitals have only been sanitized properly within the last 50-75 years! It was the Bible that did this.

Treating the Bible like a constitution, and a moral outline for life, will set free the captive. Jesus Himself said that He was sent to announce forgiveness to the prisoners of sin. Just like that fly in the web, we have been born into sin. However, when we begin to learn about God and the way He does things, and treat the Bible as our constitution we are able to be freed from the trap of living just like everybody else.

Oh! That sounds like blasphemy doesn’t it? “Free yourself from the trap of sin”… YES, it has been through Christ that we can be freed from sin, only through the blood shed on the cross can we choose to live a life without sin… but it is through our decision to make Him the Lord of our lives and live by the Bible that anything can be done on this earth.

For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. James 2:26

We as a people, need to stop making excuses for our laziness, claiming that our ONE decision to become saved was enough. Yes, good for us, we prayed the prayer of salvation… but we are the only ones who are calling the shots now the devil can no longer tell us what to do. We need to get out of our own way. It is only up to us now, (the devil can no longer use us, if we don’t let him) and it is between US and The Holy Spirit as a team, that we can successfully be directed. The Holy Spirit however, won’t do it by Himself. He needs you, you need Him… so let’s get to work! Begin to free yourself from the trap of sin, make the decision and choose to live by the perfect constitution of Faith! The Bible works, when you work it!

What does the Word say about prisoners?
John 8:36

What does the Bible say about being an outcast?
Jeremiah 30:17

What does the Bible say about unemployment?
Deut 15:6

What does the Lord say about restoration?
2 Corin. 13:11

My prayer for you today would be that you would dig deep within yourself and make the decision to commit to living by The Holy Bible, as a constitution for your life,

May God bless you in your walk today, and give you the strength to overcome the entrapment of sin

We know that we have come to know him if we obey his commands. The man who says, “I know him,” but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But if anyone obeys his word, God’s love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him: Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did. 1 John 2:3-6
