Eternity is a long time. Seriously, A LONG TIME! Why worry about anything?

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:15

Today’s word is a word of encouragement and perspective. Remember brothers and sisters, that we are eternal beings, and that we do not need to be moved at all by our current temporary situations. After all, when we recognize that we will be around forever, we don’t need to be as concerned with today’s outfit or tomorrows lunch, we can slow down and rest in Him having given Him the authority in our lives. FF Bosworth said it best,

“I can’t die. I died about seventy years ago,” he said. He said, “I–I’m a new creature in Christ.” And he said, “Brother Branham, all that I have lived for, for the past sixty years, has been the Lord Jesus. And, any minute, I’m looking for Him to walk in the door and go with Him for Eternity.”

This eternal life and grace from God does not give us license to do whatever we want. God’s very own system of doing things is cause and effect (Luke 6:38), and even though we have assumed an eternity with Christ there is a world that we must belong to that has physical limitations. Learning these limitations, and overcoming them through Christ is why we read the Bible and it is through the learning of and applying of these scriptures that we can live wholeheartedly here on the earth!

So what’s the hurry, brothers and sisters? GROW in your confidence of His Word, you have an eternity now, and we no longer are in the unsaved position of having to be like the scurrying rabbit whose work is never done! We can ease into and enter into His rest, because our God is a good God and He desires for us to pray and obey, and be free from the burdens of having to live a starving life.

Eternity! Eternal!

And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 1 John 5:11

resting on the hope of eternal life, which God, who does not lie, promised before the beginning of time… 1 Titus 1:2

“Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.” Matt 25:46

A prayer for today,

Father God, it is through the confession of Your Son that we know we have eternal life. We also know that those who hear the message of Christ, but do not have the faith enough to believe it will never rest (Heb 4:2-3). We however, are faithful men and women, and we believe in Your Word. Bring my brothers and sisters peace Lord, help them to recognize that there is no need to try and rush You. Your timing is perfect! Our earthly bodies will grow tired, but our spirits in You will never die! Allow us Lord to think more like You, and in the spirit, and less like us, in the flesh. I relax in You today Lord, and pray that You would use this body for what You have intended, be with Your children Lord! Reassure them that they are now eternal beings too!

Makes you want to slow down, doesn’t it?

God Bless you today as you slow down and enter into His rest!
