He personally carried our sins in his body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. By his wounds you are healed. 1 Peter 2:24 NLT
Dying on Display
Death is usually a private matter. A family might surround a passing member in the comfort of their own home or in a hospital bed, but more than likely the passing is discrete, solemn and rather peaceful. Christ, as we know it HAD NO SUCH DISCRETION, He died spread out, on display, before everyone who was watching.
On my Facebook and Twitter status today I wrote: “Jesus died on display — NOT in the back, in the booth, in the corner in the dark. What is death going to look like for you? HOLY and righteous or wholly and hidden?!”
What a good question, and thought to think. When the hour comes (and it will FOR US ALL), are our lives going to be found worthy of a displayed death, or will others quickly handle the disposition of yet another body.
A life worth living, is a life worth living on display.
What is a Life Worth Living?
Christ died on display, and was ABLE to do it unashamed. Imagine with me (in 2011 terms) dying on national television, in front of the whole world, completely and FULLY exposed. Could you do it? Could CNN, NBC, MSNBC expose your life and the way you lived on television… could you be found unashamed?
I really think that this is the bottom line to our lives, living and being found shame free. After all, scripture found Adam and Eve shame free in Genesis 2:24 &25 BEFORE the fall. We, through Christ have had the curse reversed, and have found Holiness in our new minds in Christ. To the unbeliever we say, “Get saved” to the believer we say, “renew your mind”.
A life worth living, is a life worth living on display. What we do in the back, in the corner, in the booth in the dark, NEEDS and MUST be what we are doing in the front, in the middle of the room, and in the broad daylight. We need to as a people and as Christians, throw away the unmarried sex, pornography, raunchy movies, money hoarding, drugs, over-indulging and EMBRACE a CLEAN and HEALTHY ABLE TO LIVE ON DISPLAY life.
You see, while you are staying up late and watching Dave Letterman, men and women of God ALL over this world are out laying hands on the sick- and watching them recover!!!
Does it Really Feel THAT GOOD?
If you have never committed your life to following after God, and have become married- you do not know how PHENOMENAL sex can be.
If you have never taken the time to bless your food and pray to the Father for the supply of your need- you do not know how TASTY food can be.
If you have never worshipped God with all your heart and fallen on your face in praise- you do not know how spiritually HIGH you can get.
If you never have served and given a family hope for their future- you do NOT know what REAL entertainment is!
Sex without intimacy, is animalistic.
Movies without morals/inspiration are just brain fodder.
Getting “high” without spiritual enlightenment, is just a device of the enemy to remove you from your right to cognitive thought.
You Have Been Found the RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD
God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. 2 Cor 5:21
True men and women of God CAN BE HEALED, “By his wounds you are healed ” BUT it is only through living a life found worthy of display THAT YOU CAN SPEAK AND BOLDY ASK THE FATHER FOR YOUR HEALING. Every person knows what they do “in the back, in the booth, in the corner in the dark”, my question to you… is that “thing” that you do- worthy of being put on display?
May God Bless you my friends as you repent, and begin to live a HOLY and righteous life, you HAVE BEEN MADE HOLY and WHOLE by receiving Christ…
