For God So Loved YOU

BECOMING GOSPEL HARDENED

The other day as I was watching an archive video from the Reverend Billy Graham, he said something worth repeating. He said; “What we must be weary of is becoming ‘Gospel hardened’.” He went on to explain that with as much Gospel as we are hearing today with television, newspapers, magazines, church services, etc. There can be a tendancy for the Word of God to go “In one-ear-and-out-the-other”, just like when our parents tell us not to do something time and time again and we don’t listen.

The danger with becoming “Gospel hardened” is that the Word is not allowed to take root and go down DEEP inside our hearts. Instead the Word of God becomes merely a “suggestion” rather than a “commandment”. This is a lonely life and not the way God desires for us to live, in John 14:23 Jesus says; “If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.” Obeying and keeping God’s Word in your hearts is how we commune with God personally, by choosing to spend time in His Word it invites the Lord into our lives. If the Gospel of Christ bounces off of us, and if we choose not to read the Bible for ourselves, we will end up living a life hardened to the Gospel of Christ and we will not be able to receive all that He has in store for us His children.

Y O U !

FOR GOD SO LOVED YOU!

“This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life. God didn’t go to all the trouble of sending his Son merely to point an accusing finger, telling the world how bad it was. He came to help, to put the world right again. Anyone who trusts in him is acquitted; anyone who refuses to trust him has long since been under the death sentence without knowing it. And why? Because of that person’s failure to believe in the one-of-a-kind Son of God when introduced to him.” John 3:16-18 MSG

Not only did God send His Son because He loved “the world”, He sent His Son because He loved YOU. He has known you since before time (Jer.29:11), He predestined you (Eph. 2:10 AMP), He has a plan for you, and He DIED for you. If you were up for sale on a trading block, Jesus saw YOU and said “I will purchase YOU.” The Word doesn’t say “Only those who do good” can have lasting life. It says “anyone”  can have everlasting life. All men and women are born into sin, and Jesus has died for us all individually! Hallelujah! Oh, how He LOVES you!

My prayer today as you go about your day, is that you would be encouraged by this message, that the Lord loves you and desires to come and live with you. That your heart would be soft and opened to hearing the Word of the Lord when it is spoken, and that you would know deep down and rooted inside that Jesus Christ, Son of God did not just die for the world… He died for YOU!

SCRIPTURES FOR TODAY:

“For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life.” John 3:16 AMP

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” Jeremiah 29:11 KJV

“For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].” Eph. 2:10 AMP

“But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.” Matt 10:30 AMP

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew [and] approved of you [as My chosen instrument], and before you were born I separated and set you apart, consecrating you; [and] I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” Jeremiah 1:5
