Who are we… REALLY?

A Psalm of Identity, Who are we?


Moniker


What is a name but a moniker,

Regardless of its few or many letters?

Does it reverence who we are,

What we have done,

Or what we have yet still to accomplish?

Has God our Father deemed us to be limited in any respect?

Does He care more about what we are called,

Or who we are called to be?

In all His glory and indescribable nature,

Our Lord has made us in His image- leaving nothing out.

He leaves healing, mercy, goodness and kindness in our wake.

We must begin to see ourselves past our skin,

That old thick and tainted sin!

Who desires for wholeness?

Who has been set free?

The man or woman who gives to God,

ALL identity!

The Word for Today:

In the Bible it says:

“Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them. There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one.” Acts 5:15-16

“Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.” Psalm 23:6

Not many people take the time to think about their “wake” and what they leave behind themselves. The Bible shows us that Peter was so filled with power and who he was in Christ that his very shadow healed the sick! In psalms we read that goodness and lovingkindness follow us everywhere we go! The word for today is a word of encouragement, encouraging you to not be so busy moving ahead that you bulldoze your way through life, leaving chaos and stresses behind you everywhere you go!

A person who is confused about who they are, continuously picks at and wears on others, leaving insecurity behind them everywhere they go, but the CONFIDENT and holy man and woman of God know who they are- and the whole world is affected by their each and every decision in a positive way! Jesus says : “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” John 14:27

Who are we, really? We are followers of Christ in all His actions and as we follow Him forward we leave Him behind us everywhere we go!

I Saw the Face of the Lord

“38,000 feet above the Earth I saw the Lord’s face, looking down unto His many people.”

A Most Blessed Trip

Good day friends! Today is the day that the Lord has made! For any who do not know, this last week I was out of town in Atlanta, Georgia receiving an award for moving from “fear to faith”, being recognized by our Pastors, Taffi and Dr. Creflo A. Dollar. It was a most wonderful trip, and I was blessed to be able to take from the entire week new spiritual understanding, wisdom and grace. Praise God!

Being honored by our Pastors for remaining faithful to God, and seeking to live my life by praying and obeying (you can watch the link on youtube HERE) is a humbling experience, and I was weakened by the entire process. Weakened in a way that the joy of the Lord and all of His goodness- was nearly too much to handle! Isn’t His goodness… AWESOME?

38,000 Feet and a Vision

On our flight home, full of the Holy Spirit and His overwhelming love for me, the Lord was kind enough to give me some visions that He would like me to share with you. As I was looking out to the sky (see the picture at top of this page), I was blessed to see the face of our Lord beaming down upon His people. As this vision manifested, I took note and wrote it down in the form of a psalm verbatim to what I was experiencing, over the course of the flight more psalms came and followed this one, this is the first:

I Saw the Face of the Lord


I looked to the heavens and I saw Your face brooding over the earth,

Smiling and joyus were You-

Not bound in affliction or pain.

Pride was the emotion I saw,

And majesty was Your mantle.

Above a people beneath the heavens,

Scurrying to make their own needs met,

And yet through all of their self-inflicted pain and sorrow,

You BEAMED with joy in the hope of the upcoming and final redemption of those who still believed!

What a gracious and mighty God I see,

As I look to Your face in Heaven!

What a remarkable sight I see,

As I remain fixed on Your beaming face!

A face of unstoppable joy!

A face of laughter, joy, hope and pleasure!

And to think you are MY God!

A God who cares for the least of us,

Enough to wait in expectation for ALL of us to seek Your mighty face!

Oh, how you must play with the clouds in Your fingers,

Those white puffy orbs!

Oh, how the sun must warm Your back as You stand in front of it!

The sky now filling itself with the pinks, oranges, and reds of sunset.

Oh, how the mountain tops must feel under Your feet,

How the cliffs no man can climb must support Your weight,

As You sit to fairly judge Your people!

You are so BIG Almighty God!

You are so BIG!

I can see Your toes dipping into the mighty oceans,

And the ragging waters,

The seas Your play place!

Like a child who plays in the wake of a wave,

Your breath creates the winds of change!

Blow Spirit BLOW!

How is it that I Your humbled servant,

Could become witness to this,

Thy Lord’s delight?

I nearly hid my eyes to the sight of You at free play with Your creation,

Feeling as if I should not be witness to You and Your pleasure with the things You had made!

And yet You say NO!

Do not stop jotting down what you see!

Scribe it!

Write it!

Share with others My time of play!

For my pleasure IS your pleasure,

And won’t you come and play with ME?!

The Word for Today: The Lord Desires Your JOY!

While we wait on the Lord in expectation of His second coming, the Lord desires you to ENJOY with Him in His joy! Play with Him among His creation, and CHOOSE to live happy today! Never should we be found waiting in hopes of death for the release of our afflictions and pains… instead let us enter into His gates and wait in joyous expectation of the Savior and His grace!

What’s it Mean… Blessed to Be a Blessing?

Being a blessing is so much greater than just being blessed…

We are Called to BE a Blessing

Ah! The blessing! We as Christians are called to live by faith, and in this faith we are called to be a blessing to others!

Being a “blessing” means that instead of looking inwardly towards self and self promotion, you maintain the discipline to look outwardly toward others, enough so that the other people that you are exposed to can feel the love of God through your abilities to make them feel comfortable, joyful, peaceful, and on-the-whole happy. Choosing to live your life according to being a blessing is SO MUCH BETTER than living to be blessed!

The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself. Proverbs 11:25

Living to be Blessed vs. Living to Bless

Unfortunately some people who try to follow Christ only follow Him in order that they may personally receive. They take all opportunities that they can in order to “extract” value from others, and then they go ahead and refer to these exchanges as “blessings”. Today, I would like to encourage us to be less like Simon the sorcerer in Acts who attempted to pay for the anointing of God (trying to buy spiritual things in order for advancement Acts 8:9-25) , and more like Peter who was so filled with the Holy Ghost so much so that even as he walked by the sick in the street, when his shadow passed by them, they were healed.

Nevertheless, more and more men and women believed in the Lord and were added to their number. As a result, people brought the sick into the streets and laid them on beds and mats so that at least Peter’s shadow might fall on some of them as he passed by. Crowds gathered also from the towns around Jerusalem, bringing their sick and those tormented by evil spirits, and all of them were healed. Acts 5:14-16

Being a Blessing isn’t Always Easy, but it is Always Worth it

Being a blessing isn’t always easy, but it is always worth it. When we choose to live our lives to bless others, it opens the hearts of men, and it opens the doors of opportunity. Just like when a child is in school and they bless their teacher, while their peers might consider them “teacher’s pets”, the teachers consider them prized students! It is ALWAYS better to see about the masters business over the business of others!

Yes, as we seek to bless others it will make way for us, and our friends might not like this. They might feel themselves less than or unworthy- but we must continue to bless others in spite of our peers, and seek to stand in the gap for those who are too busy looking from the outside in to see that the best opportunity that they could ever have is to lift others up in the name of Jesus!

“My children, I will be with you only a little longer. You will look for me, and just as I told the Jews, so I tell you now: Where I am going, you cannot come. “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” John 13:33-34

Have a great today friends! I pray today that the Lord would continue to bless you in response to your humbled and valiant hearts and that you all may continue in the good works and be blessed to be a blessing!

What is “Innocent Thought” Why Does it Matter?

Today’s principle focus is on innocent thought and the revelation that comes from thinking without presumption or judgement.

Scripture of the day: . Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent or praiseworthy – think about such things. Phil 4:8


Making it a strong and consistent habit to see everyone as good can be quite difficult. Especially when most religions teach that all men are sinners and are worth nothing but judgement. To those who are in Christ however, all men and women are beautiful and in need of deliverance, compassion and understanding.

WHY INNOCENT THOUGHT?

Today is a day to focus on innocent thought. Innocent thought makes room for new and fresh ideas. The person who takes the time to see people and things in an innocent light, will begin to grow a heart of compassion and understanding for the person being persecuted. The theory is that “everyone is innocent until PROVEN guilty.” (This proving process in the spiritual is intended for God alone) Today is a day to maintain that theory, and begin to put it into action in our lives.

JUDGE NOT

Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. Luke 6:37

In these end times you will begin to read countless articles, see endless videos,hear numerable cd’s, and online media from Christians themselves that bash fellow believers in Christ. Watching men and women write and smear their brothers or sisters for having had affairs, been divorced, fallen into lascivious living, being too rich, being too poor… it seems almost as if as soon as there is some “fall from grace”, they end up pouncing on each other and joyfully seek to prove their brothers guilty of their sin. Exposing their brothers sins to others becomes their life’s ambition.

OUR THOUGHT IS OUR CHOICE

How we think towards other human beings, is solely our responsibility. We must maintain a diligent and innocent mind set to see others as they can be, and not be waiting around for them to fail so that we can prove to others why we couldn’t be. Wanting a “rich” Christian to fail, just to prove to others that not having money is godly, really is just an excuse to not perform for yourself. Wanting to be a “rich” Christian, and waiting around for “the wealth of the wicked to be given to you”, is another type of excuse not to work. This is not the way of God, work is good for you, God intends it for you, but He wants you to do it with an innocent mind, in love and free from presumption.

INNOCENT THOUGHT OPENS THE DOOR TO REVELATION

Think about all the thoughts that you think in a day, think about all of your preconceived notions. Have you ever seen a “fat” man cross the street and you go out of your way to not approach him? What do you think about a woman who was clothed in fancy clothes, gold jewelry, extensions, make-up, and driving in a flashy car? Or what about the housewife who has bags under her eyes, and is found screaming at her out-of-control children at the coffee house? Is your thought process marred by guilty and negative thought to your fellow human being?

Today let us choose to go deeper, and to think with an innocent and open mind toward all of God’s children, diligent in finding out the truth about others and allowing the truth to be revealed to us through, and in love. Today and in the future days to come, let us practice not judging others and let us take the time to find out for ourselves about our brothers and sisters, by leaving beyond all preconceived notions.

As we do the work to learn more, we will probably find out that the “fat” man from across the street has just come out of the gym, after ordering a salad for lunch, and is trying to get his life back on track after his mother died from a year long battle with cancer.

As we do the work to learn more, we will take the time to talk to the woman who is next to her Mercedes, discovering that she just came back from a photo-shoot to promote her company and their message of hope. We will find out that she is more eager to go home and get into her favorite pair of jeans, than to be in her make-up and fancy clothes. The marketing department convinced her that dressing up sells the message best to public.

As we do the work to learn more, we will offer to pay for the stressed out mom’s coffee in front of us in line, we will talk to her, and discover that she has been working nights to put her husband through Medical School.

What Then is Reality?

The reality is that the media and the devil have attempted to influence us to look only at the dark side of man. Everyone deserves your innocent thought, and as you choose to think innocently towards one another, you will see that revelation breaks through and possibility thoughts will begin to outweigh the negative ones. Jesus saw every man and woman as they could be. Innocent thinking, unlocks the door for possibility thinking. Today, let us commit to show understanding and compassion to the frailty of humanity, and strive to guide men away from sin by treating everyone we meet as Christ has treated us.

My Prayer Today,


Father God, Your scripture says, “Do not judge, and you will not be judged.” That is a very bold idea. Here on the earth, we have found pride in judging each other, promoting our own righteousness. Forgive us Lord, promoting righteousness, by making others to look worse than us does nothing for You. You do not find pleasure in us when we expose the faults of others and accuse our brethren of failure, You find pleasure in us when we think praiseworthy thoughts. Give me strength over the adversary today to see the very best in everyone at all times. In Your Son Jesus’ Name, AMEN!

Rocky Balboa’s Story is OUR Story: WE WIN

It is quite possibly the greatest scene in movie history. Rocky Balboa gets to the point in Rocky 3 when he the “hero”, the “Stallion” admits, “I AM AFRAID! WHAT IF I LOSE?! Nothing is real if you don’t believe in who you are!!”

Rocky Balboa is on the Beach, and he and Adrienne are having ‘the talk’. It is the talk of all talks, it is the talk all winners and dreamers have. The defining moment… WHAT IF I LOSE?

Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe, as you hold out the word of life – in order that I may boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor for nothing. Phil. 2:14-16 NIV

We all need to believe that we cannot lose. We all need to understand that the battle has been WON.

Jesus said: “I am the living one. I died, but look–I am alive forever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and the grave.” Rev. 1:18

Look closely at what Jesus says in Revelation, He says “I HOLD THE KEYS OF DEATH AND THE GRAVE.” Literally He is saying, “I have been to hell, I have conquered the grave, I AM the key, LOOK TO ME, FOLLOW ME.”

I am here today to encourage you, YOU CAN’T LOSE when you look at Jesus!

Ok, ok,  that is all good, but how do I look to Jesus, when I cannot “see” Him? The simplest answer that I have, is found in the educating you in the fact that you can indeed see Him and know Him, if you would but believe.

Eventually everyone, even Champions have to do things for themselves.

In the movie, Rocky Balboa has lost his belief. How can this be? He is in the best shape of his life, he is a champion, and yet he admits to his wife on the beach, “I AM AFRAID. I AM AFRIAD I WILL LOSE!” He has lost his coach, and has not been feeding himself the thoughts on his own for success. Without his coach telling him and guiding him, he now has to go it alone and on his own… he has never had to fight on his own. Without someone prodding him, even this champion could not believe. Eventually everyone, even Champions have to do things for themselves.

If you do not have the belief you need for confidently living life, you have nothing. Believing in God, and the power that He has put within you to do the impossible cannot come from conjuring, mystic repetitive speech, or even the coaching of others. It can only come from beginning to change the way we see ourselves. How we see ourself is determined best by this question… “Do I see myself as a child of God, or do I see myself as a happenstance?”

If you see yourself as a child of God, YOU MUST begin to read your Bible for yourself. You must draw from the power within its pages, if you were the son of Donald Trump, and had just found out about it, wouldn’t you do everything you possibly could to find out about your father? Wouldn’t you read every article, learn every family member, find out what he eats, where he sleeps, and why he believes the way he does… wouldn’t you WANT to? I mean you would want to become his favorite kid! Why? Because there is great benefit in knowing your father… especially when he is loaded!!

And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to Him must believe that God exists AND that He rewards those who sincerely seek Him. Heb 11:6

If you see yourself as just a happenstance, you may feel as if you can do whatever you want. Unfortunately, those who do whatever they want, are often limited to finances, social status, gender discrimination, race discrimination, persecution from friends and family, and will ultimately end up miserable but not knowing why. Happenstance people seem to believe that things just “happen”, and that no amount of effort or belief can change things, so why try? Just settle. Settle for everything, because settling just happens. My question to the happenstances is, is settling enough? If so- be free! Be free to settle! I cannot guarantee for you success however, like I can to those who read The Word for themselves, and grow in the belief that they were created on purpose by God and in the image of God. (Gen 1:27)

The secret to “seeing” Jesus and looking to Him, as the holder and key to overcoming the enemy is found within every single page of the Holy Bible! From Genesis to Revelation.

Jesus is shown in Genesis as ‘The seed of woman’, He is shown in Joshua as ‘The Captain of our Salvation’, the list goes on and on!

Remember, you CANNOT LOSE. Christ died for us, and in Him we can boldly say…

I am MORE than a conqueror in Christ Jesus. Romans 8:37

I am the HEAD and NOT the TAIL. Deut. 28:13

I am ABOVE and NOT beneath. Duet. 28:13

I am made in the IMAGE of GOD. Gen. 1:26

I have DOMINION. Gen.1:26

CHRIST has reversed the curse, in my LIFE. Gal. 3:13

I am GOD’S. John 10:34

The Kingdom of God is within me. Luke 17:21

I AM BLESSED. Psalm 34:8, Deut. 28:3
