Archives for August2010

Today’s principle focus is on praying & believing, and letting God do the rest!

Scripture of the day:
Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. Mark 11:24

Today’s Positive Words of Affirmation and Encouraging Words to Live By:
“Today I will pray deliberately to God, and trust that He has heard me.

Every night for the last twelve years, the children and I have said prayers together before bed. It is always a simple prayer, and while the words sometime vary, the format is the same. Here is an example:

“Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day.
Thank You for Jeffrey, Joseph, Madeline, Andrew and Oshie.
Thank You for our perfect health.
Thank You for giving us a good night’s rest, all the way through the night and thank You for the hedge of protection that is around us, and thank You for Your angels who are protecting us, least we trip upon a stone. Thank You for dying on the cross for us that we may be covered by your blood. Thank You for everything that You have done for us, we love You, in Jesus’ name AMEN.”

That’s it. I have never typed out our nightly prayers but boy, there sure are a lot of “Thank You’s” going on!

I was always taught, when I was taught to pray, to thank God in advance as if whatever that needed happening was already done. Each night in prayer, I always thank Him for the good night sleep we are about to have, and for our perfect health. (I have no desire to be woken up in the middle of the night with sick kids- that is not fun!)

Jesus says that when you pray, pray like this:

“Our Father who art in heaven,
Hallowed be THY name,
Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done,
On earth as it is in Heaven,
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our debts as we forgive those who debt against us,
Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil,
For thine is the Kingdom and the Power and the Glory forever and ever… AMEN!”

When we thank God in advance, and believe that He wants the same for us, we are speaking the things into existence in the natural that aren’t already here! Jesus said, “Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven” no where in Jesus’ prayer was He pleading, begging, or asking… “If it be YOUR will Lord…”

If you don’t know what God’s will is for your life, well then you better get back to the Bible and read it again! He wants you WHOLE, nothing missing and nothing broken!

When we have needs, we don’t have to ask God more than once. Repetition with God is assuming that He didn’t hear you the first time. You can repeat things to yourself, but make your requests unto God and then believe that He has heard you and receives them. Scripture says that He knows the desire of our hearts, and if that is the case, mentioning a desire ONCE and then thanking Him for it in your future prayers confirms that you know He is listening, has heard, and is in the process of doing.

“Father God,
Our house is too small, and it is not meeting our needs that I can tell. I know You have seen this. Your Word says, “they shall dwell safely therein, and shall build houses, and plant vineyards; yea, they shall dwell with confidence”. Father I would like to ask You for a new house or an addition to this house, so that we can all fit comfortably and I know that You desire for it to be completely paid for. You are an abundant God, and I would like to thank you in advance for our new house! In Your Son Jesus’ name AMEN!”

It is at this point, that I let the request go to God and never ask for a house again. I simply praise Him for our “new house”, and I know that we have it coming, and paid for too! Thank you Jesus for our new house! Done Deal!

My Prayer Today,
Father God be with those who read this message today on how they can pray and receive results. Thank you for hearing our prayers and receiving them. You are a great God, hallowed be thy name! You are the Alpha, the Omega, the beginning and the end! Thank you for always being here to hear us and our prayers… today we praise YOU for all that you have done! In Your Son Jesus’ name, AMEN!

May the Lord God continue to answer your prayers,
Love Always,

Did you know???

Yesterday, my favorite bike was stolen! It was a vintage 1960’s Schwinn. It had belonged to my mother and she rode it to school when she was a girl. As soon as I realized it was missing, I prayed and asked that the Lord would have it returned to me, as I was the rightful owner. I did not receive that it had gone forever missing, and I could not conceive it being in someone else’s possession. I prayed to God that it would be returned, and then I went about my day.

I imagined in my mind someone coming to the door and returning it. Saying something like, “I was drunk, I am sorry, here is your bike back.” Then, I would ask them to enter my home and tell them about Jesus and give them some food or water. I was looking forward to the door knock. (I had prayed to God, and He had heard my prayers)

Not but four hours later, a door knock came. It wasn’t a drunkard, but it was a neighborhood boy who knew my bike, asking me if I had left my bike at his house. He described it, and I was ready to go get it. I told him on the way that I had prayed that it would be returned to me, and viola! It was there! God is so good, and yes God answers prayer!

Today is Day 28 on Jessica’s 365 Days to a Whole New Life journey, you can follow along daily and begin your own journey at We all have the same 365 days, but we all have different opportunities. How you spend the next year of your life is entirely up to you! Focusing to spend your life on personal growth day by day, will result in a life like you have never dreamed! We aren’t talking “pie in the sky” type changes, we are talking real life changes… changes for the better, changes toward becoming a whole new you!

For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers. 1 Peter 3:12

Today’s principle focus is on accepting our husbandry roles in society as God-given.

Scripture of the day:
Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour. For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building. 1 Cor 3:8-9

Today’s Positive Words of Affirmation and Encouraging Words to Live By:
“Today I will rejoice in who God has made me, and according to the role that I have been born into.”

It is the Greek word for husbandry, and it does not imply manhood as much as it implies, “working together”. Whenever I counsel anyone on relationships and marriage, I have to remind them that men and women are created to work in synergy but that they each have separate roles to fill. I have never read Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus but I have read the Bible and the scripture that says;

Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with [them] according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered. 1 Peter 3:7

Right off the bat, women are identified in 1 Peter as being “the weaker vessel”. After praying for an answer on that, the Lord showed me that women are indeed the weaker vessel, but it is in direct result from the curse that fell on Eve in the garden.

Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire [shall be] to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee. Gen 3:16

Thankfully as a born again believer, I (a woman) am no longer under this curse, but society as a whole still is. Therefore, we woman are in society as the weaker vessel and it is still through our husbands or through men mostly that we must minister to society. If you are single, it’s OK, God can be that man for you!

No one likes to be “the weaker vessel”. But everyone needs to practice the art of husbandry. In our scripture today, Peter says “every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.” I take heart in that passage, because this means that I, as a woman have certain things that I can offer, that a man can not. I have the ability to minister in a motherly and tenderly way, unlike my husband who may be more deliberate and affirming.

  • Tend to me nurturing and subtle.
  • Have an impulse to go directly into prayer.
  • See God as a Father figure easily.
  • Desire to establish and maintain normalcy and stability leading to security.

  • Have no reservations for being bold and ready to go into battle.
  • Accept responsibility readily.
  • See God as a partner and co-laborer in their daily battles.
  • Desire to provide protection and demonstrate strength and victory over problems, they are always ready to take risks!
  • You see God has created us male and female. And as of yet there is no other sex to be identified. Some may debate the way God created them, but either way, there is still only male or female of the human species. Today is the day to focus on being content with the way God made us and to embrace our individual roles and responsibilities.

I can remember, as a single woman feeling the void of missing my mate. I remember feeling helpless and unsure of my place in society. As a child, I was told I could be “anything I wanted to be”, but in a sin racked society where women were constantly being labeled as “second class”. There seemed to be a void. I found solace in doing my best. My best work enabled me for promotion and “promotion comes from the Lord!”

For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another. Psalm 75:6-7

Let us remember today, those of us that currently are not married and have to be disciplined in synergy with God alone, that it is He that raises up one, and puts down another. The best thing that we could ever do is embrace who we are in Him and allow Him to establish us! What a great working team!

My Prayer Today,
Father God be with Your children today, all of these awesome men and women who have accepted the way they have been created. Take off the blindfolds Lord, let Your women be proud to be ALL woman and Your men proud to be ALL man. We do not desire to have You come down to earth and say, “Where did everybody go?” It has been You all along who has wanted us to be who we are, but TRUST in You for our completion. Make us whole Lord, complete us so that as a team we can be unstoppable! In Your Son Jesus’ name AMEN!

May the Lord God continue to be your best team mate,
Love Always,

Did you know???

That Margaret Hilda Thatcher, “Baroness” Thatcher, (born 13 October 1925) served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1979 to 1990 and Leader of the Conservative Party from 1975 to 1990. She is the only woman to have held either post.

Thatcher’s tenure as Prime Minister was the longest since that of Lord Salisbury and the longest continuous period in office since Lord Liverpool in the early 19th century. She was the first woman to lead a major political party in the United Kingdom, and the first of only four women to hold any of the four great offices of state.

Margaret Roberts was brought up a strict Methodist by her father. Thatcher became Prime Minister on 4 May 1979.

Arriving at 10 Downing Street, she said, in a paraphrase of St. Francis of Assisi: Where there is discord, may we bring harmony. Where there is error, may we bring truth. Where there is doubt, may we bring faith. And where there is despair, may we bring hope.

She represented the newly energetic right wing of the Conservative Party and advocated greater independence of the individual from the state and less government intervention. She became a very close ally, philosophically and politically, with President of the United States Ronald Reagan, elected in 1980. During her tenure as Prime Minister she was said to need just four hours’ sleep a night. Margaret was able to embrace her God-given gift of femininity and sensitivity and add to it the boldness and partnership with faith from her unity in Christ and her spiritual upbringing… What an example of husbandry in action!

Margaret and her husband Denis were married until his death from 1951-2003

Day 26: LEGACY

Today’s principle focus is on our families as a force, a God-given legacy.

Scripture of the day:

Don’t you see that children are God’s best gift? the fruit of the womb his generous legacy? Like a warrior’s fistful of arrows are the children of a vigorous youth. Oh, how blessed are you parents, with your quivers full of children! Your enemies don’t stand a chance against you; you’ll sweep them right off your doorstep. Psalm 127: 5 MSG

Today’s Positive Words of Affirmation and Encouraging Words to Live By:

“Today I will focus on standing as a unified front with my family, through agreement and the creation of harmony.”

Having been invited to speak in Africa this November on marriage and family, I have been doing a lot of thinking. What in the world could I teach in a country that I am not that familiar with? Yes, of course we want to bring the Bible and yes, we desire to preach The Word of God, but we do not wish to be irrelevant. No one wants to hear someone come into their hometown and teach on moonbeams and lemonade, when what they need to know about is meat and potatoes.

The other day, as I was driving in the car the Lord told me to bring with me the message to Africa of legacy. Everyone on this earth can identify with the desire for establishing a legacy.

More than just another creation, Adam was God’s child.

Consider with me if you will crops. If you were a good farmer, you would know to keep the best of your produce for seed, and not for eating. What could you expect out of a crop if you were to plant rotten potatoes? How would your farm be impacted, how would your family survive? They couldn’t, they wouldn’t!

When God created Adam and Eve, He gave them the best example possible. Himself! Adam walked with God and learned from God, and it wasn’t until Adam disobeyed God and decided to not take responsibility for his actions that his relationship will God was marred. Thankfully, through a long lineage of men and women taking part in the creation process, their came an offspring into this world, a perfect seed, Jesus the Christ. Jesus, came into this world, into this flesh to bring us back into God’s legacy.

If corpses can’t be raised, then Christ wasn’t, because he was indeed dead. And if Christ weren’t raised, then all you’re doing is wandering about in the dark, as lost as ever. It’s even worse for those who died hoping in Christ and resurrection, because they’re already in their graves. If all we get out of Christ is a little inspiration for a few short years, we’re a pretty sorry lot. But the truth is that Christ has been raised up, the first in a long legacy of those who are going to leave the cemeteries. 1 Cor 15:16 MSG

Now that Christ is on the scene, alive forever more, we can all be raised from a “dead” state of life and begin walking again with our Father! Just as Adam did! Shame free, righteous examples, establishing a legacy for God of believers!

A family is not a group of people all related to each other. A family is a force. When we come together as a unified team, in a unified front all believing God for the same things and standing in agreement, there is NO stopping us! Like the Von Trap family we can scale the Alps to avoid persecution, and in the case of the Franks, we can live in an attic. We as a unified family can do anything, but apart all we can do is argue and be unfruitful.

The first revelation as a parent that you can have, is that your children were born independent. They are covered by you, and you are to “train them in the way of the Lord”. But due to the curse that has befallen humanity all men and women are born slaves to sin, and apart from God, all men are born independent. Your children have been created through God’s gift of legacy to Adam, and through man and woman’s seed with a purpose, but they will have to fight everyday against the enemy and the desire to focus on themselves.

As a parent, we must recognize our responsibility to teach dependance and not harp on independence as would be customary. Our children are human beings, not animals and DO NOT need to be encouraged to “leave the nest”, they need to learn by example that they can depend 100% on their parents. This example of trust and dependance, will end up guiding them and impacting their lives, making them familiar with asking God and depending on God for things when they are apart from you. This dependance on a reliable mother and father is imperative in their teenage years.

An excellent parent-child relationship will leave a child, having learned by example, how to live completely responsible but not necessarily “independent”. Your child will desire and choose to live responsibly, as they have been correctly taught how to depend and trust in you and God their Father. You won’t be able to keep them from wanting to move out, they will desire to prove to you their capabilities and responsibilities!

  • Eating together as a family establishes unity.
  • Taking your child to work with you shows them your responsibilities.
  • Turning the television off. Walking or reading together shows them your commitment to them.
  • Befriend your growing children. As the roles begin to shift in the way that you discipline them, recognize that you are still there parents, but they are learning your discipline. They will not need disciplinary action, when they learn their work ethic from you.
  • Hug your children, no matter what age. Never let a day go by that you do not tell them how proud you are of them, they are your legacy, they are our future.

My Prayer Today,
Father God be with us today as we choose to seek unity in our families. We may have been broken in the past, but instead of shoving hurts and offenses under the rug, give us the strength to begin to talk and communicate with one another. Give our families the desire to spend more time together in ways that we all enjoy. Father God give us all the encouragement that we can be that perfected seed to sow, and remind us that our striving for righteousness is not about us at all it is all about You and all about leaving a legacy behind, established in You. “as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.” Joshua 24:15

May the Lord God continue to bless you in the establishing of your legacy,
Love Always,

I love this picture because you can see an overpass behind the Ark, bringing the modern day into "ancient" history.

Did you know???

That due to the length of days originally lived in the establishment of the earth, Noah was born only 20 years after Adam died?! That would be like Adam being your Grandfather! The time spent in the garden with God was fresh enough for Noah and His legacy, that as they were repopulating the earth, they could share stories of their creation!

Today is Day 26 on Jessica’s 365 Days to a Whole New Life journey, you can follow along daily and begin your own journey at Just start on day one, and read one principle a day. We all have the same 365 days, but we all have different opportunities. How you spend the next year of your life is entirely up to you! Focusing to spend your life on personal growth day by day, will result in a life like you have never dreamed! We aren’t talking “pie in the sky” type changes, we are talking real life changes… changes for the better, changes toward becoming a whole new you!

If our powerful God had not provided us a legacy of living children, We would have ended up like ghost towns, like Sodom and Gomorrah. How can we sum this up? All those people who didn’t seem interested in what God was doing actually embraced what God was doing as he straightened out their lives. And Israel, who seemed so interested in reading and talking about what God was doing, missed it. How could they miss it? Because instead of trusting God, they took over. They were absorbed in what they themselves were doing. They were so absorbed in their “God projects” that they didn’t notice God right in front of them, like a huge rock in the middle of the road. And so they stumbled into him and went sprawling. Isaiah (again!) gives us the metaphor for pulling this together: Careful! I’ve put a huge stone on the road to Mount Zion, a stone you can’t get around. But the stone is me! If you’re looking for me, you’ll find me on the way, not in the way. Romans 9:20

Today’s principle focus is on friendship.

Scripture of the day:
A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. Proverbs 18:24

Today’s Positive Words of Affirmation and Encouraging Words to Live By:
“Today I will be a great friend to somebody else, and remember that Jesus is a closer friend to me than even a brother.”

If you have spent anytime in a hierarchy such as in leadership, management, or the military, you will agree with me that sometimes being a leader is a lonely feeling. People can often judge you, not see eye-to-eye with you, and more than likely can’t figure you out. Please remember however that the old adage holds true, leaders are readers. Anyone who has ever become a great leader at anything, has spend countless hours on personal growth or has earned specified education. People who are content to just “follow” leaders most often don’t focus on growth of any kind. It has been in my experience that when you are a leader, you can expect the majority of your friendships to be just that of mere fellowships.

If you feel that you are a “lonely leader”, remember that Jesus is right there beside you. If you feel that He has grown silent to you, open the book of John and just start reading the Bible again, you will begin to feel Him and then take a deep breath, recognizing that you are not alone.

Have you ever learned about the different levels of friendship? About two years ago, I heard an excellent sermon on the varied levels of friendship and suddenly friendship as a whole became clear to me. The Preacher used an “inner-court and outer-court” analogy.

He explained that, when the first temple for the Lord was established, within it was found an outer-court, an inner-court, and the Holiest of Holies. Basically the outer-court was for congregating and assembly, the inner-court was for the priests, and the Holiest of Holies was where the Lord resided. The levels to entering into God’s presence were specific and there were rules, regulations, and statutes designated for each entry level to get into the Holiest of Holies. There was only one special man who was able to enter into the presence of the Lord.

  • “Outer-Court” Friends: Everyone has outer-court friends. These are the people that you have for dinner, you are invited to parties with, and you can talk about things on the surface level with. Maybe, as a leader, you can go deep into their lives, but you would never reveal to them things of a personal nature for yourself. You could be listening to them speak to you about their financial problems, while you yourself had issues… but you would/could never let them know such intimate details about yourself. This level of friendship is a very common one, you could have hundreds of friends in this position. Joyful, fun, acquaintances.
  • “Inner-Court” Friends: An inner-court friend is a rare, golden, and precious commodity. If you have “inner-court” friends, chances are that you only have a few. Less than one handful. These are the friends who no-matter-what you are going through, you can call them and talk to them, non-judgmentally. While you are out saving the world for others, these awesome relationships are your battery rechargers. You benefit as much, if not more from their fellowship, as they do from you, and when you call each other the lines go both ways. Don’t be alarmed if you only have maybe one or two of these friends and one of them is your spouse! This is a friend that has proven to you over time that you can trust them with anything, anytime, anywhere and YES they will still love you if you when hurting.
  • The Holiest of Holies: Of course this friendship is the one we have with Christ our Lord, and there is only one of Him. He should always be your best friend and confidant. Often time when I have felt alone in the past, I will meditate on the fact that Christ lives in me, and if He lives IN me than He KNOWS me better than any friend that I could ever have! The fact is that none of your friends, not even your spouse, know you as intimately as Jesus does. He created you, He has been with you in every situation, every minute, every moment, every time. NONE of your human “friends” can say that! And He still loves you IN SPITE of it all! What a friend we have in Jesus!

The problem in friendships often comes, when we attempt to exchange levels of friendship out of desperation. In our tiredness we try advancing “Gossipy Ginger” to an inner-court friend, when “Trustworthy Trisha” is not available. Instead of crying on the shoulder of our Lord (In the Holiest of Holies) when Trish isn’t around, we start looking at our contact list and find the first “friend” who is home, and dish a plate of problems out, all our “Pasta and the marinara” too! Unfortunately where Trish would have eaten your dish with trust, humility, and prayed for you… Gossipy Ginger will start serving your dish to others! Simply because we didn’t realize the reality of the levels of friendship.

When we live in a perfect world, with Christ, walking abundantly in love and no sin, everyone will be inner-court friends with each other! Scripture says, “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away. Rev 21:4”

There will be no; toll booths, bridge makers, trust barriers, or respect earnings. Only simple praises, worships, and Godly fellowship among the Sons and Daughters of God. However, until this day I would like to encourage you in the facts that:

  • There is only ONE who belongs at the center of your life and in “The Holiest of Holies” and that is not your spouse it is Jesus.
  • There will only ever be a handful of people who should be allowed into your “Inner-court” and one of these will/should/needs to be your spouse.
  • You will have a multitude of “outer-court” friends and acquaintances, but you will probably only ever see them socially, and that is ok. It isn’t you, or anything that you are doing, they just aren’t ready for the inner-court yet and they may never be.

My Prayer Today,
Lord God, when your Son Jesus died, Your Word says that the “The curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom.” (Mark 15:38). You tore the curtain in two in order that anyone who wants to enter into Your Holiest of Holies would be granted entrance through the blood of Jesus Christ. We, as believers, boldly desire to enter into Your presence and stay there. You are our closet friend, and we do not need any relationships apart from You. Reassure Your children Lord that you are right there waiting, You haven’t gone anywhere and You desire a friendly fellowship with them. You have created us to take what we receive in fellowship with You Lord, and give some of it to others, we thank You for this gift and desire fellowship with others, please reveal to us tonight Father who our “inner and outer-court” friends are. Lord all we desire is You. Thank you for giving us healthy relationships, and people who we can rely and trust on when we need a hug, handshake, confirmation, or encouragement. Help us to be good friends today Lord to others, just as You have been to us! In Your Son Jesus’ name, AMEN!

May the Lord bless you today in all your levels of friendship,

Love Always,

Did you know???

That in Exodus the High Priest who was allowed to enter into the Holiest of Holies had to wear bells on the bottom of his robe! If the High Priest was not found Holy, pure, and clean when he entered into the presence of the Lord… HE WOULD DIE! You would know because, the bells would stop ringing! Though there is no biblical proof to the priests wearing ropes around their ankles, the story goes that the High Priests not only wore bells but a rope tied to their ankle, so that their dead bodies could be dragged out from the Holiest of Holies upon death, if they were not sanctified.

To think that now we can enter into the presence of the Lord any time we want, and appear blameless before the Father because of His Son Jesus! WOOHOO! Hallelujah! Praise you Jesus! Thank you!

  • The robe of the High Priest was to have bells on its hem so they made a noise when he moved:- Exo 28:31
  • “The robe that goes under the ephod is to be made entirely of blue wool. Exo 28:32
  • It is to have a hole for the head, and this hole is to be reinforced with a woven binding to keep it from tearing. Exo 28:33
  • All around its lower hem put pomegranates of blue, purple, and red wool, alternating with gold bells. Exo 28:34 (SEE 28:33)
  • Exo 28:35 Aaron is to wear this robe when he serves as priest. When he comes into my presence in the Holy Place or when he leaves it, the sound of the bells will be heard, and he will not be killed. [Good News Bible]

Today is Day 25 on Jessica’s 365 Days to a Whole New Me journey, you can follow along daily and begin your own journey at .

For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son. Ro 5:10 NLT

Today’s principle focus is on being teachable.

Scripture of the day:
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Matthew 11:29

Today’s Positive Words of Affirmation and Encouraging Words to Live By:
“Today I will devote my day to being open to God to teach me something new, and I will begin apply it.”

You have heard it said before, “When the student is ready the teacher appears”. My question to you, how far can the student go, if he isn’t willing to be taught? NO WHERE! Showing “up” to class isn’t enough!

It is one thing to say, “I want to LEARN this or that”, it is another thing entirely though, to ask a mentor to teach you something and than take it home and practice what you were taught, until you get it right. That is what it means to be teachable.

If you have watched television in the last 24 hours, you were taught something new. Grocery stores, coffee houses, churches, friends…. We are all being taught something new, as we are exposed to more and more things. Today’s focus is on becoming aware of our “teachability” and what is it exactly that we are learning?

For the last six months, I have been witness to my husband go from being a really really “good” golfer, to a really really “great!” golfer. It has been in these last six months that he has submitted to his instructor and done exactly what he has taught him to do. In Jeff’s desire to be a better golfer; he has submitted himself to the expect, put himself in a teachable state of mind, learned a new processes, and in turn is on his way to becoming the best in a field which is now narrowing by quite a bit.

This is what our relationship must be like with Christ, totally teachable. if your relatIonship is one of being teachable by Christ, than you need not be worried about who He uses to mentor you in the natural.

Whatever we see in the physical was first made known in the spiritual. I.E. When I submitted to Christ completely to writing a book, a Publisher showed up. I could trust the Publisher, because Christ brought him to me as my devotion lay with Christ and not the Publisher.

  1. You must have the God-given desire and vision to improve (Be a better father, mother, employee, student, child)
  2. You must submit to an expert in that area (You must be willing to listen, learn and obey)
  3. You must be ready to learn (Taking notes, reading books, thinking about the process- not just sleep-learning)
  4. You must do (You have been given the tools, now you must apply them)

The fear tendency for most Christian’s, is that they begin to think that if they submit to another man, they are going to end up giving Lordship up to that man. scripture says: “Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.” Eph 5:21

Jesus says if you learn from Him, you will have rest in your souls. This is so true, because our work is sooo much easier when we know how to do something! Unless you are a hermit, living in the woods alone, you are learning everyday, every minute. However if the desire of your heart is to be a plumber, and that is what you feel God has told you to do, you will need to have someone on this earth to teach you how to become a plumber. If this is you today, and you desire to learn something new, let the Lord bring you an expert. Don’t just go to any Tom, Dick, or Harry, ask God to send you an expert. You have the Spirit of excellence on you, and a cut rate teacher… is NO teacher at all!

My Prayer Today,
Father God, today I want to say thank you for making my yoke easy and my burden light. I understand that with You all things are possible and in that knowledge I know that You will never ask me to do something that you do not think that I am prepared enough to do. You want me to succeed, not fail. You want me to SHINE! Your Word says “What do you do with a lamp that is lit? Do you put it under a chair or a bush.. NO! You put it up on a hill!” I want to learn from you Father, and I want to be open to learn new things from the Godly men and women who YOU bring in my life through my seeking of You. I trust you will send to me the right person, at the right place, at the EXACT right time! Thank You Lord in Your Son Jesus’ name AMEN!

May the Lord bless you today and send you someone in your path that you may be able to learn new something from,

Love Always,

Did you know???

That the oldest school on record is The King’s School in Canterbury, Kent. It is a British public school which originated as a medieval cathedral school, and it is often claimed to have been founded in AD 597 by St. Augustine, making it the world’s oldest extant school. This is based on the fact that St. Augustine founded an abbey (within the current school’s grounds) where it is known teaching took place. When the dissolution of the monasteries occurred in the reign of Henry VIII, the school was refounded as the King’s School, Canterbury.

Monasteries started out as and mostly received funding (by donation) and their notoriety for being free school systems (by the monks) to the poor. They were the first “schools” to reach out to the community and teach the under privilege people how to read and write. The King’s School still stands and was established only 597 years after Christ’s death! That’s a lot of teachers… AND students!
