Day 12: PEACE

Today’s principle focus is on peacefulness and the internal comfort that comes from being in agreement.

Scripture of the day:For there are three that testify: the Spirit, the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement. 1 John 5:7-8

Today’s Positive Words of Affirmation and Encouraging Words to Live By: “Today I will work diligently on seeking God and His kind of inner peace. I will work to come in line spirit, mind, and body toward a committed purpose and finalized destination. “

Where do I see myself on a scale of 1-10 in the area of “Peacefulness”? 6
Where do you see yourself on a scale of 1-10 in inner Peacefulness, and God’s kind of unity?

Have you ever taken the time to float? I mean really float? I can remember being a girl, in an inner tube floating on the lake. No responsibilities, no stresses, just the cool clean water tickling the backs of my ankles, and the warm drowsy sun lapping at my brow. If I wasn’t careful, I would fall asleep and wake up a mile down river! If it was a day when we didn’t need to do anything, we would float along several miles, and then pull to shore to sit under an oak tree and sleep some more. It was peaceful to the core.


Cars honking, people swearing, dogs barking, alarms blurting, kids fighting… all of these things grind at us daily and it is as if we sometimes completely forget what inward peace even feels like. Not the “CAN I PLEASE GET SOME PEACE AND QUIET!” Kind of peace, but the: “There is nothing wrong with me, I have everything I need, and I don’t need anything more.” Kind of peace.

Today as I am sitting in an urban area drinking my coffee in the piazza, cars driving by and people chattering, I am going to choose to put my mind at ease by simply remembering these 5 things…

1. There is NO mess too big that God can’t clean up.
2. I still have at least 60, maybe 70 more years of life left, my life isn’t even close to being half over.
3. I am healthy, and I can still pray, sing, laugh, and rejoice.
4. No matter what we are going through, tomorrow will still be a new day.
5. The past is behind me.

Recognizing the BIG picture, and understanding that no matter what, God is always with you, really does put into perspective that you have everything you need. You might not have everything you want… but you have everything you need.

Breath of life

When we work at unifying these entities (these things that you already have), and focus on operating as one member, our breath in line with our body and both in line with our spirits, we come in “agreement”. What do I mean? Well, when the body needs vegetables, but you feed it chocolate cake, you are not in agreement. When your mind needs encouragement, but you feed it a horror film, you are not in agreement. When your spirit needs faith, and you feed it fear, you are not in agreement.


God has put into us free-will and choice. The Bible says that we have been given the freedom to choose who we serve. The person who has created the optimal climate to achieve peace would eat a consistent recipe for life like this … “Vegetables and exercise (good food and care of the body), inspiration & faith.”

The person who chooses to come in agreement with the enemy, has fed themselves a steady diet of, “Junk food and bad health, horror (discouragement), and fear.”

Those who are constantly conflicted have chosen to eat from a life buffet of; “Good food (one day), bad food (the next), encouragement (one day), discouragement (the next), faith (occasionally), fear (following).” I would suppose that the absolute worst case scenario would be some ongoing cacophonic combination of “Good food, discouragement, and faith”, or “Bad food, encouragement, and fear”. Totally conflicted, and totally out of agreement.


Today I will eat good foods, and drink clean clear fluids. I will read a book of a positive and encouraging nature. I will walk, and breath deeply, and I will choose to employ faith and watch my faith work for me. Today will be a day of complete agreement, body, mind and soul. I might wake up half way down the river, by the end of the day, but I will have enjoyed every minute of the river-of-life, and nothing will discourage me or tire me out to the point of ignoring my body-life-spirit agreement.

My Prayer Today,
Thank you God for today and for showing me that you are a God of agreement. Your Spirit, water, and blood are all in agreement. Today I pray that you would make us all strong in spirit, with minds like water, and equipped with a impenetrable flesh covered by Your blood. You walk in agreement as an example to us, that we can too, it is up to us to choose to come in agreement and live in peace. I love you Father, and I choose to agree with You and live in peace today. Thank You! In Your Son Jesus’ name AMEN!

May the Lord God Bless you and put your mind at ease through His Peace that passes all understanding,

That the Nile river in Africa is the longest river in the world at 4,180 miles! That would mean that at a 5 mile per hour float speed (that’s pretty fast) it would take you over a month to “float” from end to end! (Minus the crocodiles, waterfalls, etc.. of course!)

Today’s Positive Words of Affirmation and Encouraging Words to Live By: “Today I will look for new opportunities and doors to open”, and “Today I will choose to look at the possibilities of life.”

Where do I see myself on a scale of 1-10 in the area of “Opportunity Awareness”? 6

Any time that we have a chance to do anything whether it be mow the lawn, wash the car, read a book or take a walk, we are opening ourselves up to opportunities.


A long time ago I was taught that if you have bad teeth the greatest investment you could ever make was to get braces. I am not sure if the statement is true, but I do agree with the basic direction of the statement, “The greatest investment is in yourself”. Doing what you need to do to personally grow.

It always seems odd when you are in an airplane and the Flight Attendant informs you to “put on your mask first” then help out the others around you. Why is that? The simple reality is that if you are the only one left with your wits about you, you better take care of yourself first, because you can’t very well save a plane of people when you are knocked out. Jeff and I continually remind each other to “put our own oxygen masks on first”. This is our go-to-phrase when we can tell that one of us has been stretched too thin, and needs to take time to relax. Investing in ourselves in the type of rest necessary in order to be open to new opportunities is paramount to a sustained success.


  1. Prayer: Always thanking God and seeking Him for guidance
  2. Water: Drink plenty of H2O for a clean clear body
  3. Stretching: Elongating the muscle helps to release tension and increase blood flow
  4. Singing: Singing helps you to relax because it sets your mind to love, and when you either love a song or love to sing, you are in the mood to love (a great mood to be in!)
  5. Dancing: Leaping, twisting, turning, and grooving gives your heart something to do. Those of us who love to dance know how glad dancing makes you feel (David danced!)
  6. Laughing: Laughter truly is the best medicine!
  7. Resting: Taking naps when you are exhausted is a great way to relax. Some large companies even have sleep pods where you can “power nap” for like 10 minutes at a time.
  8. Walking: Walking causes you to breathe deep and long, walking is a great stress release
  9. Quiet time: Time scheduled to “do nothing”, have no TV, Computer, or electronic product present. Just you, some books, a not pad, and time alone to think

Today I am going to focus on preparing my mind for opportunity by taking care of myself, sleep in when I can, sit down when I can, today I am going to go extra slow and make everything last a little longer. I won’t be in a hurry for anything. Every day is a new day, today is the day that I will see something I have never seen before!

My Prayer Today,
Father God, thank you so much for Your Word that teaches us that Your compassions never fail and that You are new every morning. You have given me a day to open my mind to positive opportunities and I thank you soo much! In Your Son Jesus’ name AMEN!

May the Lord God Bless you today with a day full of opportunities!

Today’s principle focus is on perspective, how are we seeing things?

Scripture of the day:So if you’re serious about living this new resurrection life with Christ, act like it. Pursue the things over which Christ presides. Don’t shuffle along, eyes to the ground, absorbed with the things right in front of you. Look up, and be alert to what is going on around Christ—that’s where the action is. See things from his perspective. Col 3:1

Today’s Positive Words of Affirmation and Encouraging Words to Live By: “Today I choose to see things from God’s perspective. I will make my decisions and my emotional responses after first thinking about w.w.g.t… what would GOD think?”

Where do I see myself on a scale of 1-10 in the area of “Perspective”? (HA, I guess it all depends on how you look at it!) 5

Where do you see yourself in the area of God’s kind of “Perspective”?

To some, it would probably come off as blasphemous, attempting to see things from God’s point of view. Immediately they might retort…”Who do you think YOU are, GOD?! You can’t possibly think the way GOD does!” I beg to differ...

  • …there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries. Daniel 2:8
  • “It is He who reveals the profound and hidden things; He knows what is in the darkness, And the light dwells with Him.” Daniel 2:22
  • He replied, “The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them [Those who do not believe].” Matt 13:11
  • He reveals the deep things of darkness and brings deep shadows into the light. Job 12:22
  • “To those who listen to my teaching, more understanding will be given. But for those who are not listening, even what little understanding they have will be taken away from them.” Mark 4:25 NLT
  • “I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.” Phil 4:12


Have you ever gone up to your teacher or boss with a question regarding your job, and had them answer back at you… “I don’t know the answer.”? It is probably pretty rare, and chances are if they didn’t know the answer, they would answer you with.. “Let me get back to you on that.” You see our mentors, teachers, and bosses are where we go to get guidance and answers to our questions related to our position. It is in this type of relationship with men, that we should approach God for answers about our lives. Ask Him, and He will answer.

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” Matt 7:7

So if scripture “says” that if you ask it will be given unto you why is it that so many peoples prayers do not get answered? Let me show it to you in this way…

Joe the plumber has worked in the plumbing industry for years. He was raised a plumber, he married the daughter of a plumber all of his family are plumbers. One day on the job, he comes to a problem he has never faced before, there is modern technology involved, and he doesn’t know the new materials. Since he is out on the job, (and he dropped his cell phone in a toilet last week) , all he knows to do is panic and run to get help!!! There is water flooding the basement!! HURRY JOE, HURRY! Immediately Joe runs to the nearest roofing supply store.

OH NO Joe! What would happen to Joe? Would he get what he needed? Would he be able to get the supplies he was looking for to fix the plumbing situation? The answer is obvious, NO.

It is not that God loves us conditionally, it is that He has equipped us individually. God is NOT in the business of making drones, He is in the business of giving us all unique capabilities. He has made you so unique that unless you TAP into Him and the way He does things for you, you will be constantly missing the mark and asking for things that don’t, shouldn’t, and wouldn’t help you at all. What can God do??


He can give you His grace. It is only through the grace of God that we are able to continue to live, breathe, eat and enjoy, even though we are consistently doing “jobs” that belong to someone else. Our Father in Heaven created us each with a unique purpose (Jer. 29:11), and ON purpose. It is our responsibility to begin to look at our lives in the way that He would desire them to be lived. I know scripture calls men to “honor their wives least their prayers be hindered (unanswered)”, why would not honoring your wife “close” heaven? Because honoring your wife, is what God would do. He made you a husband to your wife and that is your role. In that role one of your job duties is to give honor to your spouse, it is a requirement of marriage. [1 Peter 3:7]

What we all need to start doing is begin looking at life through an eaches and individual “God colored filter”. I am going to focus today on going beyond just doing Jesus type things to thinking God type of thoughts about me, and my position in life. Today I will begin by asking myself:

Is this the way God would want me to think?
Is this what God would be thinking about my situation?
Am I saying what God would want me to be saying?
Am I doing what God would be doing to prosper, heal, help, and give toward others?


I am NOT God, and you are not either. I am not a god, and you are not a god either. What we are however are “employees” of God, and in that respect we called to be imitators of God. (3 John 1:11, Mark 10:18) We are called to do our best not to think as God (we can’t, we aren’t God), but to do our best to think like God and in HIS ways. Any great employee can take over your job while you are away, and any great boss will not ask you to do something you are not individually equipped for. Just like the way that Joe the Plumber, could not get the answers he needed to fix his problems from the roofing company, Joe knows that he could never ask his son to tell him everything he needed to know about roofing. His son is a plumbers son!

My Prayer Today,
… is simple, Lord. It is that this word, would bless Your children and help them to begin to choose to look at situations in the ways that You do. I pray they would come to understand that You aren’t not answering their prayers, You are waiting for them to come to You in Your ways, through Your Son and on point and on purpose. Comfort them Father, that You are always here. Show them that what You are looking for is for them is a complete surrender to Your employment, and give them the courage to find out their individual job responsibilities in You. Show them Father, that they are YOUR CHILDREN and have been blessed and completed as Your children. You are the Potter, we are the clay. Father God, remind us that they are ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY unique, and that there is no “general problem, or general answer”. Give them boldness Father, to come before you as complete and unique individuals, seeking guidance for what YOU desire for them and how You have designed them to be, and HOW exactly for them to do everything in order to live an abundant life in You. In Your Son Jesus’ name, AMEN!

Scripture of the day: Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. Hebrews 12:1

Today’s Positive Words of Affirmation and Encouraging Words to Live By:“Today I will CONTINUE ON, REGARDLESS of who is watching.”

Where do I see myself on a scale of 1-10 in the area of “Perseverance”? 8 Where do you see yourself on a scale of 1-10, in perseverance?


This morning, as my son was minding his chores outside, he had taken his bird with him. The bird is a parrot, and likes to perch on shoulders. Today was different however, I had forgotten to trim his wings! I being on my computer writing on perseverance immediately stopped what I was doing and ran outside to see what the commotion was. Imagine my surprise when, I saw our bird across the street in a tree! While I was momentarily proud of our seed shoveling semi-flightless bird, for getting up there, the reality was that he had gotten himself higher than we could climb.


Seeing my distress (well, more like laughter and cooing from me to said bird-on-a-far-away-branch), the neighbors all started looking and staring. What a sight! Imagine a bright orange and red bird in a tree acting like a human (superior and dignified) whilst his owner stands 14 feet below acting like a bird! Kindly, our next door neighbor Renee solicited her boyfriend to come out and them being the most wonderful couple, got a ladder and extended themselves to us in help. After approximately 15 minutes and two trees later, Mango was back in my arms getting his wings clipped! Together, in the midst of our birdrama, we got to know our neighbors better, and while it could have been embarrassing it was actually a community building endeavor.


In 1933 Rhonda Farr was quoted saying, “Publicity, darling. Just publicity. Any kind is better than none at all.” Whenever you are doing something that gets noticed, you are engaging in the opportunity to build a team, community, or relationship. It is a very Americanized way of thinking to, “Do something all by myself”. Whether you win, lose, or fail, today I will challenge myself and others to do something worth getting noticed. I would like to challenge us all to see past our own successes or failures, and get a better grasp of the BIG picture. When you start anything, you will need people to get involved. This gives others opportunities that they may never have had. You will walk away from having started something, and preserved personally in the achievement of your dreams! Who cares the result?!

The only thing that gets us to quit early in life and give-up the desire to persevere is allowing ourselves and our embarrassments get in our own way. I am here today to encourage you that YOU CAN CONTINUE, YOU CAN FINISH THE RACE THAT IS BEFORE YOU, BY THE END OF THIS EVERYONE WILL BE CHEERING FOR YOU! The only question left is… do you know where you are running to?


If you have no idea where you are going or why, you must take the time to pray for direction. I had a definite objective this morning GET THE BIRD OUT OF THE TREE AND BACK HOME. With this clear objective, I was able to execute with perseverance and achieve the result required. Your objective might be to clean out the closet, or write a poem, or take out the trash, or even build a company. Whatever the project is, pray for a picture of what it is supposed to look like, grab ahold of it and don’t let go! Victory and community involvement is right around the corner. The Lord will provide you with people who have the skills to help the vision come to pass. I wasn’t as tall as my neighbor, nor did I have a ladder, but because I had a “clear objective, vision, and purpose” the Lord provide a tall neighbor with a ladder and a heart to serve! What a victory!

Do you see what this means—all these pioneers who blazed the way, all these veterans cheering us on? It means we’d better get on with it. Strip down, start running—and never quit! No extraspiritual fat, no parasitic sins. Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we’re in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed—that exhilarating finish in and with God—he could put up with anything along the way: Cross, shame, whatever. And now he’s there, in the place of honor, right alongside God. When you find yourselves flagging in your faith, go over that story again, item by item, that long litany of hostility he plowed through. That will shoot adrenaline into your souls! Hebrews 12:1-3 MSG

My Prayer Today,
Father God, today as we focus on perseverance, I humbly ask that you would give all of your children a clear picture. Something that they can do for You and with You, Lord if it is something small than let it build, if it is something big, than give them the strength of back and character of conviction to get their projects finished! In Your Son Jesus’ name, AMEN!

May God Bless you today as persevere in pursuit of your dreams,

Day 8: POWER

Today’s principle focus is on power and the recognition that comes from being aware that we operate in victory, strength, and power when we become single minded. A strong body, comes from first having a strong mind.

Scripture of the day: But everyone who believes in this raised-up Jesus is declared good and right and whole before God. Acts 13:36-39 MSG

Today’s Positive Words of Affirmation and Encouraging Words to Live By:“Today I will recognize and be thankful that all indecisiveness has been removed from my life. Today I will make decisions based on unity and purpose with the Word of God as the final say.”

Where do I see myself on a scale of 1-10 in the area of “Power”? 9

Did you know that being indecisive is not the same as being “double minded”? After all, what is better? Telling someone that you are going to do something important, and then not doing it, or telling something that you can’t do something, then change your mind anddo it anyway?

When you do something for someone, after telling them you couldn’t, you are honored. When you say you can do something, but don’t show up to do it, you disrespect yourself and show that you are indecisive and unreliable but not necessarily double minded.


Double mindedness is found in thinking that multiple things are ok and acceptable. Before we got “saved” we were all double minded…

One day, you might have thought, “There is no harm in having unprotected sex.” The next day you watch something on the news about STD’S and begin to think “Having unprotected sex is NOT ok.”

One day, you might have thought that watching horror films was ok, and that you could handle it. Then in the night as you slept and had dreams of being tortured, you might have woken up thinking, “OK, no. Horror movies are NOT ok.”

One day, before you got “saved”, you might have thought, “Smoking weed makes me feel HOT, sexy, and calm.” Then the next day, “Smoking weed gives me a headache, makes me feel sick, and costs a lot of money.”

One night you might have gone to a bar and thought, “Picking up a woman to take home, is ok, I might find “love”.” The next morning, when she walks out of the bathroom and looks nothing like she did all dressed up the night before, and now wants to move in with you… you think, “Bars are NOT the place to find a wife.”

Double mindedness is found, when you have no idea of true north or singleness of thought. You have only supposition and trial and error. Your opinions of things change from day today.

One day Vampires are evil and of the devil, the next day they are romantic and honorable. One day, staying a virgin is ok, and the next day “trying out” a partner before marriage is required…This is the type of double mindedness that gets you in trouble and makes you weak.


To be honest with you, I was bawling like a baby on my way home today. The thought that washed over me was, I DON’T HAVE MANY WAYS OF THINKING, I ONLY HAVE ONE. Do you know how powerful that is??? I hear Christians talk a lot about a “full surrender” to God, but it never really hit me, like it did in the car this morning. A full surrender means YOU ONLY HAVE ONE TRAIN OF THOUGHT. YOU DON’T HAVE TO WONDER ANY MORE. YES, IT REALLY IS BLACK & WHITE FROM NOW ON.

I call this “The Greatest Story Ever Told”, because it is like this; before I surrendered and fell in love with Jesus and the Word of God, I went back and forth. One day I was Pro-Choice, the next, Pro-Life. One day I watched Mary Poppins, the next day I watched Freddy Krueger. One day I ran a mile, the next day I smoked cigarettes. One day I paid cash, the next day I borrowed. One day I worked to make money, the next day I stole. One day I read the Bible, the next day I read Stephen King.

A lover, a true lover, a lover of your soul will say to you, “My darling, I love you. I would die for you, I would stand in front of a bullet for you. Come home with me, live with me, do things in this way, I will never hurt you and as a matter of fact, you will never have to make your own decisions ever again, I have made all the decisions for you… you are done working… FOREVER. Sit back, relax, and enjoy your life… I will do, and have done everything for you!

When I heard Jesus say this to me I begged and pleaded with Him saying, HOW, HOW, HOW? I WANT THAT! I AM TIRED! You might be asking that same question right now! I am here today to tell you (as well as remind myself), that you can have it and you can have it that way NOW! Full surrender and submitting to God and the way He does things, gives you power and strength in the sense that you will never have to make an independent decision ever again! From now on, you can read the Bible and study what Jesus says, and live by THAT decision. When the Bible becomes your final authority, and you take every decision that you have to make, and see if it lines up with the “Word”, you will EASILY be able to make all of your life decisions. No more double mindedness, NO MORE PAIN.

My Prayer Today,
Father God, I pray that You would open the eyes of Your people and reveal to them the POWER and STRENGTH that comes from making a complete surrender. That upon reading this little note they would forever think before they read, watch, decide, and act. That they would recognize the POWER that comes from being single minded, that the LOVE that you gave us wasn’t just so that we can “FEEL” good, but it was so that we could from this point on and forever “THINK” good. Show them that they can have PEACE OF MIND TODAY, simply by learning, and understanding that in You and when they live according to Your Word, THEY NEVER HAVE TO BE UNDECIDED again. Protect them against the devil and his deception that more is better. More is just more. Today I will recommit my life to the power that comes in single mindedness, and if there is anything in me that contradicts Your Word, show it to me, I want none of me…
I want ALL of You!

Did you know???

Andrew Carnegie, the worlds richest man in modern history, was quoted saying; “Concentrate your energies, your thoughts and your capital. The wise man puts all his eggs in one basket and watches the basket.”

The words ‘Double minded’ (james 1:8 “A double minded man is unstable in all his ways”), is the Greek word “dipsychos” which literally means… ‘DIVIDED INTEREST’. You can see in dipsychos that this type of thinking and accepting multiple ways of living is ‘psychos’, or a “psychotic” train of thought.
